The Canon L250 is a fax machine and laser printer designed for the home or small office user. Its combination of fax machine and laser printer is convenient, but its slow transmission speeds and slow printing speeds mean it is not particularly good at either task. For faster printing speeds, consider the Dell 1100, which features Dell 310-6640 toner.
All-in-one machines are almost as popular as dedicated printers lately, but many users still prefer to have a dedicated fax machine for the office. The Canon Fax L250 is mainly a fax machine, but also has the ability to act as a monochrome laser printer. It can also function as a basic copier, though this is the most limited function of the three, as the unit lacks a flatbed scanner, and scan quality is unimpressive.
As a fax machine, the Canon L250 has all the major features that are necessary, such as speed dialing of up to 100 locations, delayed transmission, and a page memory of up to 90 pages. Unfortunately, one of the most important aspects, transmission speed, is very weak. The Canon L250 is capable of only 14.4 kbps transmission speed, falling far behind most of the competition. Despite its other features, most users will find it too slow.
Canon L250 toner cartridges have a capacity of 2,700 pages, so it won't need the printer cartridge replaced often. Canon L250 toner cartridges are also very affordable, resulting in a very low cost per page, like Dell 310-9058 toner. Its economical laser toner costs are one of the Canon L250's main attributes.
As a laser printer, the Canon L250 is decent, but it won't replace a dedicated laser printer. Its slow speeds of 6 pages per minute relegate it to the occasional printing task. Text quality is generally good, with some loss of clarity on small fonts. Graphics quality is usable, but below average for a laser printer. For better graphics printing, consider the color Xerox 6125 and its Xerox 106R01333 toner.
Overall, the Canon L250 doesn't add up to an impressive fax machine or laser printer. Its economical toner costs are the only standout feature. Buyers can find much better in competing units.
