An office that requires a machine that has the ability to print on various types and sizes of paper should take a look at the Canon Pixma iX6520. Though this inkjet unit is not multi-purpose, its ability to print top-quality photos and professional-level text documents will surely benefit any work environment, even if the office is in a home. Though the standard printing speeds are not overly impressive at 11.3 pages per minute in black and 8.8 pages per minute in color, a 4x6 inch borderless color photo can be produced in less than 40 seconds.
Like typical color printers, this device uses four standard colors of Canon iX6520 ink. Cyan, magenta, yellow and black are the colors of printer ink, but this machine holds two different types of black ink. The standard black Pixma iX6520 ink is used mostly for graphics and photo printing and has a page yield of 310 pages. However, the other black Canon iX6520 ink is pigment-based and intended to be used for text documents, which is why it has the ability to print over 4,000 pages before expiring. The cyan, magenta and yellow printer ink can all last for about 500 pages.
Replacement Pixma iX6520 ink cartridges are available directly from the manufacturer or from other suppliers on the internet. They are affordable, easy to find and simple to install. When only printing black-and-white documents, a resolution of 600x600 dpi can be reached. However, when printing using the color Canon iX6520 ink cartridges, a maximum resolution of 9600x2400 dpi can be obtained.
This machine is connected via USB port and has a maximum paper capacity of 150 sheets. Most major operating systems are compatible, and it is sold with special templates for poster and business document printing. Overall, this $200 machine will perform reliably and efficiently in any setting.
