Positioned as a budget photo printer, the Canon PIXMA iP6210D competes with other lower priced photo printers. Print speed is rated up to 1 page per minute for 4" x 6" color prints or 4 minutes a page for an 8 ½" x 11" print. Canon PIXMA iP6210D ink is ejected through a print head with 2,304 nozzles as part of Canon's full-photolithography inkjet nozzle engineering system technology.

Dimensions for the iP6210D are 17.3"w x 10.3"d x 6.8"h. It weighs 8.2 pounds. It will print on a variety of media including envelopes, glossy photo paper, semi-gloss photo paper, matte photo paper, transparencies, plain paper and photo stickers. Canon iP6210D ink cartridges feed printer ink to a head with a maximum resolution of 4800 x 1200 dpi for both black and white and color printing. The Canon iP6210D inkjet cartridges are arranged in a 2 printer ink tank configuration.

Connection is made through wired USB 2.0 and infrared for Bluetooth-enabled devices or connecting through PictBridge using a compatible camera. The USB cable is not included with the printer. The iP6210D accepts several memory card formats with slots for CompactFlash, SmartMedia, Memory Stick and the SD Memory Card.
