F30
The Canon MultiPass F30 is a multi-function inkjet printer that was originally manufactured in the early 2000s. It was innovative in its time, featuring a new system of individual Canon F30 ink cartridges rather than the tri-color tanks normally found in Canons. The newly designed cartridges produce images at a high resolution of 600x600 dpi for black and white and 2400x1200 dpi for color. It can print up to 17 or 12 pages per minute, respectively.
The copy machine feature can make 10 copies per minute using black printer ink and 17 copies in color. It also has a high resolution of 1200x1200 dpi and can copy up to 99 documents at a time. The scanner has a 36 color depth and a maximum interpolated resolution of 2400x1200 dpi. The Canon F30 can print on letter, legal, A4, envelope and banner sized paper. It has a 30 page automatic document feeder which is a necessity for bulk printing.
The Canon Think Tank System consists of 4 cartridges of Multipass F30 ink—black, cyan, magenta and yellow. This system is more economical than the tri-color tanks, which was a single cartridge with the three colors in it. So if one color was running low, users would have to replace all of them and ended up wasting a lot of printer ink. Now the Canon F30 ink is sold individually and is much more cost effective to replace. Replacements are available for $13-$18 from the manufacturer, but compatible printer ink can be found for much less. Multipass F30 ink cartridges have a high page yield, so they will last a while.
The Canon MultiPass F30 inkjet printer is a good buy, available for under $150. It is a perfect addition to a home or small business, especially for color image printing. The individual tanks of Canon F30 ink make every photo more vivid and sharp, and the pigment based black ink produces solid and crisp text. The all-purpose F30 is durable and produces beautiful prints that will please any consumer.
