Multifunction laser printers are an important part a successful office environment. Where different functions used to be provided by various machines, these all-in-one units have given consumers a way to save space, time and money. Especially for small offices, which the Canon imageCLASS D550 is designed for, the space that will be opened up by eliminating a scanner and a copier will allow for less traffic and maybe even another desk. This unit offers high-speed USB connection, built-in duplex printing and networking. It can print as many as 26 pages per minute and is compatible with both Windows and Mac operating systems.
The copier has a zoom range from 25% up to 400% and can print up to 99 copies per an original document. This portion of the device uses Canon D550 toner to produce a maximum copy resolution of 600x600 dpi. The scanner can reach the same resolution in optical form without the use of toners, but can also hit an interpolated resolution of 9600x9600 dpi. The scan function is equipped with a 24 bit color depth, creating crisp and clear scans.
When it comes time to print, the imageCLASS D550 toner can produce resolutions as high as 1200x600 dpi. This quality ensures that all text and graphics documents will appear professional and precise. Only one Canon D550 toner cartridge is used during operation and it is filled with black printer toner powder. This has the capacity to print as many as 2,100 pages before expiring. When that happens, replacement imageCLASS D550 toner cartridges are available directly from the manufacturer or from third party vendors online. Most of the third party suppliers carry remanufactured Canon D550 toner as well. This type of printer toner will produce the same quality and yield as the OEM version and comes with a guarantee to back that up.
