Another in the line of small, transportable printers, the Canon BJC-50 ink printer, also known as bubble jet, is geared towards the traveling user who needs a light-weight printer. At only two pounds, the BJC-50 is one of the lightest printers made, coming in under its Canon cousins. At less than 2" in height and 4.4" deep; it is less than a foot wide. This makes it smaller and lighter than the BJC-70. Printing speed is rated at 5.5 pages per minute for black and white and 2 pages per minute for color.

The compact size of the BJC-50 means that it will fit in a printer bag alongside a notebook. The Canon BJC-50 inkjet cartridges achieve a resolution of 720 dpi by 360 dpi for black and white and color. Supported paper handling capabilities include envelopes, film, plain paper, photo paper and transparencies. The Canon BJC-50 ink cartridges print clear, legible type that is more common with larger desktop printers. Its monthly duty cycle is rated at low output.
