Canon BJC-3000 Ink Cartridges

The Canon BJC-3000 is an older inkjet printer, released before the turn of the millennium. It is a very basic photo printer, though it does contain 4 different Canon BJC-3000 ink cartridges, which was rare for that time period. The output rate is far from impressive, printing up to only 4 pages per minute using color printer ink, and 6 pages per minute in black. The BJC-3000 would not hold up in an office environment but would be good for home users that don't have a lot of printing needs.

The compact and plain looking inkjet unit weighs only 5.5 pounds. It has a USB port and parallel port and is compatible with both Windows and Mac, making set up and image transfers convenient. As far as memory, the Canon BJC-3000 has 128 KB, which is nothing to write home about. Canon Quick Start Guide also simplifies set up, and the low-ink sensor alerts users when the BJC-3000 ink is running low.

This unit has four Canon BJC-3000 ink cartridges, cyan, magenta, yellow and black. The 3 colors of printer ink were often combined into one tank, but that system tended to waste toner when one color would run low and the entire cartridge would get tossed. This individual tank system saves money and allows more nozzles per color which provides a decent resolution of 1440x720 dpi. Even though the printer itself barely costs $100, the cartridges of Canon BJC-3000 ink are a little overpriced. There are compatible options available for much cheaper.

Reviews for the BJC-3000 were all over the place. Some people were satisfied with the quality and reliability, while others were furious with its poor performance. It is an old printer with very few features that fit into the technological world anymore. However, it serves its purpose and produces acceptable results.
