Costing between $100 and $150, the Brother HL-2270DW is a budget-friendly laser printer. It is a monochrome unit, so color printing is not available, but it still produces the speed and quality to be beneficial to a small office. This machine even has an automatic duplexer, which allows users to print on both sides of the paper without having to insert the sheet more than one time. The monthly duty cycle of 10,000 pages is perfect for standard size small or home offices and the volume in which they will produce monthly.
The only Brother HL-2270DW toner cartridge used inside this unit has the ability to print up to 2,600 pages before expiring. Once the black printer toner runs too low, replacements can be found from a number of vendors. The most expensive option will most likely be buying directly from the manufacturer. The least expensive option will be remanufactured Brother HL-2270DW toner cartridges. These are rebuilt and distributed through online merchants with a satisfaction guarantee of equal quality to OEM toners.
Unlike previous models in this series, the HL-2270DW offers wired and wireless connections. It has the standard USB port as well as an ethernet connection that allows for networking, which is the process of multiple users sharing a single printer. Wireless abilities are also beneficial to some depending on the layout and size of a particular work space.
With speeds of 27 pages per minute, some might think quality would be a bit less than expected of this caliber machine. However, the Brother HL-2270DW toner has the ability to reach resolutions of 2400x600 dpi. This high quality produces professional text documents, as well as graphics. There is also a built-in memory of 32 MB. And with a weight of 15.4 pounds, the Brother HL-2270DW is not only convenient and simple, but it fits perfectly in a standard office.

The Brother HL-2270DW is a compact laser printer that includes both wireless networking and duplexing. Its solid feature set will appeal to home users, as will its affordable operating costs and sharp laser quality. The 250-sheet paper tray is a good fit for light-duty use, and those who prefer a wired connection can connect it via USB or ethernet.
You will know when the HL-2270DW toner cartridge is empty when the toner light on the top panel remains solid. Open the front access panel, then grasp the handle on the cartridge and drum unit to pull it toward you.
Place the assembly on a piece of paper to avoid spilling any toner. You must remove the Brother HL-2270DW toner cartridge from the drum unit for replacement. Press the small lever on the left side of the drum unit to remove the cartridge.
Prepare your new HL-2270DW cartridge for installation by opening its box and removing it from its packing materials, as well as the bag. Take a moment to rock the cartridge back and forth to distribute the toner more evenly, then you can remove the protective cover.
Slide the new Brother HL-2270DW cartridge into the drum assembly and click it down into place. Rotate the assembly around so that you can clean the corona wire before you reinstall it. Slide the small tab back and forth several times, then lock it back into place.
Insert the entire assembly back into the printer and close the front cover, making sure it is completely closed. The toner light should no longer be lit.
You are now ready to resume printing with your Brother HL-2270DW printer.
