The Brother DCP-8080 laser copier (also known as DCP-8080DN) is designed for the home or small office user. It is an excellent copier with expandability for the future. It is also a very capable scanner and laser printer.
Despite its label as a copy machine, the Brother DCP-8080 laser copier can print, copy, and scan. It has a built-in ethernet interface for easily sharing it across a network of users. When connected to a network, it can function as a network printer, and also supports network scanning, allowing users to send scans to a location on the network or even a USB flash memory drive. One great thing about the 8080 is that its toner cartridges are inexpensive to maintain, unlike Xerox 113R00720 ink.
One of the other main benefits of the unit is its expandability. Initial paper capacity is 250 sheets in the main tray and 50 sheets in the multipurpose tray. An additional 250 sheet tray can be added at any time, bringing the total capacity to 550 sheets. Memory can also be expanded from the initial 64 MB to a total of 576 MB. These expandability options make it an ideal choice for the small office expecting to grow in the future.
Brother DCP-8080 toner cartridges come in two capacities. The standard laser toner cartridge has a capacity of 3,000 pages, while the high-yield copier toner cartridge has a capacity of 8,000 pages. The high-yield cartridge results in a lower cost per page, and is a much more economical option. For an even more economical toner cartridge, check out HP C8061X toner.
Copy and print speed is very fast, at up to 32 pages per minute, minus scanning time for copies. Up to 99 copies can be made at once. Print quality is excellent, with sharp text and good graphics quality. For even higher quality graphics, go with a model that features Samsung CLT-Y409S toner.
Overall, the Brother DCP-8080 makes an excellent choice for a growing office, and its built-in networking and duplexing add value to an already impressive machine.
